A carrier's pricing rules, turned into working software
Quoting and transport-request management for road carriers, their resellers and end customers in Europe.
Who it is forRoad carriers, forwarding resellers and their end customers across Europe.
Discuss a projectThe task
Quoting international road freight meant reading rate books by hand: per-leg tariffs, hubs, special and island zones, surcharges for dangerous goods, tail lift and oversize pallets, plus a separate multiplier for every partner. Pricing took time, and the shipment request itself then lived in email, with no single place for its status, documents or history.
Solution
We built a system where the customer enters route, dimensions and service type, and it derives chargeable weight, splits the route into legs, decides between a direct and a transit option, and returns a price with a lead time — separately for express and standard freight. The quote turns into a transport request carrying its shipments, addresses and time windows, documents, statuses, emails and notifications. Rate books are uploaded from Excel instead of being edited in the database. The interface runs in five languages, and partners get their own white-label sites with their logo, language and price coefficient.
Outcome
Pricing stopped being manual spreadsheet work and became something the customer does directly. A request keeps its own history, paperwork and correspondence, so nobody chases status by email. A partner can sell under its own brand without running a separate system.
Capabilities
- 01Express and standard quoting: chargeable weight from volume and weight, route legs, direct or transit routing, lead times
- 02Surcharges and exceptions in the calculation: special zones, islands, hub handling, oversize, overweight, dangerous goods, tail lift, full truck load
- 03Rate books imported from Excel — legs, hubs, zones, islands and no-transit areas
- 04Transport request lifecycle: shipments and addresses, statuses with a reason for each change, attached documents, PDF output, email and in-app notifications
- 05Role-based access: sessions with CSRF protection in the live application, JWT and role middleware in the REST API
- 06White-label partner sites with their own logo, language and price multiplier, resolved from the site address
